Avatars as Visual Personas
A design exploration of identity across digital spaces

Design Project
Avatars & Digital Identity
Concept & Intent
In parallel with my design practice, I’ve developed a series of avatars—each one a visual persona representing different aspects of my creative work, roles, and experiments. These avatars serve not only as extensions of my presence in digital spaces, but also as a design project in their own right—a way of exploring identity, visual language, and how we represent ourselves across platforms, mediums, and contexts.
These animated avatars are more than just profile pictures—they're living visual personas that represent different facets of my creative roles and evolving identity. Each one is a small character study in motion, crafted to explore how personality, presence, and intention can be communicated through form, gesture, and animation. What started as a way to visually distinguish my roles across platforms has grown into a self-initiated design exploration of modular identity, performative design, and playful self-representation.
Reflection
Working with animated avatars shifted the way I think about visual identity—it’s no longer static, but alive. Motion introduces nuance: a blink, a head tilt, a looped gesture can tell stories words can't. These avatars allowed me to experiment with persona as performance, balancing authenticity and abstraction. In designing them, I realized how identity in digital space is not just curated, but choreographed. Each avatar becomes both a mirror and a mask—revealing, concealing, and evolving with intention.

Tools and Context
I use different tools for animation or svg design depending on the need including React and Flutter libraries and packages, lottie animations, native SVG design, design tools such as Figma to creating simple animations, or Procreate and Blender for complex or 3D animations.
